Gerald Raymond Nicholas, 80, of Caseville died Friday, December 9, 2016 in Covenant Medical Center, Harrison Campus, Saginaw. He was born January 18, 1936 in Flint to Raymond and Doris (Rockefeller) Nicholas. He married Olive Mary O'Connell October 24, 1959 in the Novesta Church of Christ Parsonage in Cass City.
Gerald worked for General Cable for over thirty years and was a crop farmer. He was a skilled deer hunter and pheasant hunter. Gerald loved spending time in Caseville on his boat, fishing for walleye and perch. He enjoyed the outdoors especially camping and snowmobiling.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Olive; their children: Jerry (Lee Horiski) Nicholas of Caro, Renee (Robert) LaFave of Birch Run; grandchildren: Weston LaFave, Trent LaFave; sister, Kathryn Louis of Gagetown; brother, Roger (Gloria) Nicholas of Caseville; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Nicholas and brother in law, Garry Louis.
Graveside service held at a later date in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City with Debra L. Kranz, Funeral Service Celebrant officiating. Memorials may be made to charity of donor's choice. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
