JENNIE MARY OSENTOSKI
Jennie M. Osentoski, 88, of Cass City, died Monday, March 19, 2018 following a brief illness at the Huron Medical Center, Bad Axe. She was born January 28, 1930 in Kingston to Peter and Mariana (Swierzbin) Zajac. She married Vincent John Osentoski on January 14, 1961. He later died August 16, 1975.
Jennie graduated from Kingston High School in 1948 and attended Tuscola County Normal to earn her teaching certificate. She then went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from Central Michigan University. She was proud of her career as a teacher, especially teaching at the one room Bruisee School in Caro. Jennie later taught at the Connor School in Caro. She then went on to retire from Brunkow Elementary of the Buena Vista School District. Jennie was skilled in embroidery and took pleasure in tending her flowers. She enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, especially cardinals and hummingbirds. Jennie was a fan of the Detroit Tigers, watching the games on television. She also enjoyed visiting with her sister-in-law Carmelle, in Port Austin.
Jennie is survived by her children: Anna Osentoski of Bay City; David (Teri) Osentoski of Cass City; James Osentoski of Cass City; grandchildren: Alicia Osentoski of Cass City; Adam (friend, Lindsay) Osentoski of Cass City; Austin (friend, Mandi) Osentoski of Cass City; sister, Sophia Bialkowski of Dearborn; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Zajac; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by brothers: Walter Zajac; Edward Zajac; sister, Frances (Mike) Kotora; brother-in-law, John Bialkowski.
Funeral Mass held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2018 in Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Cass City with Rev. Matthew Joseph officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Ubly. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
