Anna M. Papp, 95, of Cass City, died following a short illness, Thursday, February 21, 2013 in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was born August 30, 1917 in Dante, VA to George and Verna (Vereb) Gretz. She married Daniel Papp November 27, 1937 in Sandusky. He died October 2, 1990.
Anna worked as a seamstress for various clothing stores in Cass City. She helped her husband with the work on their farm. Anna was a member of St. Pancratius Catholic Church and their Altar Society. She enjoyed gardening, canning and playing BINGO.
Anna is survived by her children: Stephen (Lois) Papp of Cass City, Daniel (Mary) Papp of Phoenix, AZ, Robert (Carol) Papp of Caro, Henry Papp of Phoenix, AZ, John (Mary Ann) Papp of Caro, Rosemary Quinn of Midland, Michael (Leeann) Papp of Caro, Louis Papp of Cass City; grandchildren: Shawn (Tammy) Papp, Jeff (Paula) Papp, Sharon (Gene) Hergenreder, Lori (Dan) Weiss, Susan Schubel, Melinda (Steve) Weiss, Daniel (Danielle) Papp, Deborah (Tim) Harris, Rob (Kristin) Papp, Frances (Drew) Brandimore, Tammy (Michael) Dawson, John (Rita) Papp, Jr., Jennifer (Jamie) Hecht, Derek (Christine) Quinn, Darby Quinn, Jason (Lesley) Papp, Rebecca Papp; 35 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Gretz, Emma Clemmens and Mary Alice Gretz; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: infant son, James, sister, Helen Nemeth; brothers: Andrew, Stephen, Charles, Gaza, James, George, Joseph, Michael; infant sister, Margaret; infant brothers: Nicklas, Alex; infant great grandson, Jeffery.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in St. Pancratius Catholic Church with Rev. Paul Bala and Sr. Maria Dina Puddu MC officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City. Pallbearers for Mrs. Papp: Shawn Papp, Jeff Papp, John Papp Jr., Stephen Papp, Jordan Papp, Derek Quinn, Alex Papp, Rob Papp and Jason Papp. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
