RICHARD JONATHAN PARROTT I
72, of Cass City, died Wednesday morning, January 5, 2022 in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, Caro. He was born September 3, 1949 in Cass City to Gail Linwood and Louella Bernadine (Sherwood) Parrott. He married Deborah Jean Wentworth on December 11, 1971 in Cass City. She died December 1, 2011.
Rick graduated from Cass City High School in 1967. He worked for Marlette Homes and Hydromet in Caro before he developed multiple sclerosis, at which time he worked in the home until he was unable. Rick was lovingly cared for by his family and many others over the years. In his younger years, he enjoyed woodworking, riding motorcycles, snowmobiling, and driving his Jeep. He had a love for the outdoors, deer hunting, and being in the woods. Rick will be fondly remembered as a practical joker. He had a strong relationship with the Lord and knew Jesus as his personal savior. He was eagerly awaiting the day when his body would be made whole, and he would meet Jesus face to face.
Rick is survived by his son; Richard J. (Sara) Parrott II of Vassar; daughter, Lindi E. (Peter) Thayer of Spokane, WA; grandchildren: Skylar, Nataya, David, Dylan, Benjamin, Lincoln, Lydia, Grace, Rachel, Evangelina, Samuel, Eden; brother, Robert Parrott of Decker; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Deborah; grandson, Seth Nathaniel Thayer; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Wanda Parrott; and sister-in-law, Carol Parrott.
Funeral service held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2022 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Rev. Jim Howard of Cornerstone Baptist Church of Bay City officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Revive Ministries or Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, Activities Department.
