CAROLINE MARION PERRY
91, of Charlevoix, formerly of Cass City died Tuesday, February 22, 2022 in McLaren Hiland Hospice Cottage House, Petoskey. She was born December 25, 1930 in Sterling Township to Joseph and Mary (Jorose) Phillips. She married Ralph Francis Perry on June 24, 1949 in Holy Name Catholic Church in Detroit. He died June 4, 2016.
Carrie was the youngest of nine children and grew up on a farm near Utica. She attended St. Lawrence School in Utica. Carrie was a devoted mother to her five children. After raising them, she enjoyed a career at J. L. Hudson’s. Later, retiring to Cass City, she spent the rest of her life caring for her husband until his death. Carrie was an avid baker and we miss her annual Christmas cookies very much! She spent her final five years enjoying the activities in American House Senior Living of Charlevoix and made many dear friends with the staff and residents.
Carrie is survived by her children: Ralph F. (Lynn) Perry, Jr. of Clinton Township, Carol (Mark) Pirie of Charlevoix, Janet (Dan Gilt) Perry of Port Huron, Brion (Renee) Perry of Pinckney, Jason (Andrea) Perry of Oxford; grandchildren: Diana, Ralph F. III (Anita), James, Cheryl, Steve (Sarah), Don (Sarah), Nicholas, Shane, Jeff, Nathaniel, Madelyne; great grandchildren: Anthony, Alexander, Liliana, Marco, Tyler, Rylee, Mason, Mila, Blaine, Don, Chase, Alex; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; sister, Freda; and brothers: Ed, Bill, Alex, Howard, Dick, Donald and Ronald.
Private funeral service held March 1, 2022 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Deacon David Gillespie of Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Pancratius Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery in the spring. Memorials may be made to Hiland Cottage Hospice House – Petoskey, 1 Hiland Dr. Petoskey, MI 49770.
