Shelby A. Peters, 56, of Cass City, died Saturday, October 4, 2014 in her home. She was born September 9, 1958 in Edison, Georgia to William and Betty (Wade) Powell. She married Michael Roy Peters July 7, 1995 in Sandusky, Michigan.

Shelby graduated from Pontiac Northern High School in 1977. She worked as a custodian for several years at Brown City Schools before starting at Lear in Marlette where she worked for 10 years. Her most recent employment was at Grupo in Marlette. Shelby was a people person and loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed cleaning, hunting, fishing, crocheting, gardening and spending time outside. Shelby loved to play Bingo and enjoyed her visits to the Casino.

Shelby is survived by her husband, Michael; children: Melissa (fiancé, Brad Roberts) Jordan of Cass City, Preston (Kristina) Jordan, Jr. of Clio, Angela (Steven Tubbert) Jordan of Ypsilanti, Michael Peters, Jr. of Cass City; grandchildren: Christopher Jordan, Zachary Jordan, Abagail Jordan, Kyle Jordan, Gracie Jordan, Lilith Jordan, Marley Tubbert; father, Roy Koop; brothers: Richard Powell of Pontiac, Tommy Powell of Cass City; sister, Pauline (John) Fitzpatrick of Cass City; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Betty Koop; father, William Powell; sister, Betty Novak; brother, Dennis Powell.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Pastor Wendy Orzel officiating. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
