ROY L. POWELL
Roy L. Powell, 73, of Cass City, died Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in St. Mary’s of Saginaw. He was born November 10, 1943 in Cass City to Sanford A. and Rita Agnes (King) Powell. He married Betty Kennedy on November 25, 1967 in Cass City.
Roy spent his entire life farming and it was something he loved doing every day. His hobby was restoring old motorcycles and riding them with his grandkids. Roy recently restored a Honda Dream. Most important to him was his family, especially his grandchildren. He made certain to always be there for everything they were involved in.
Roy is survived by his wife Betty, daughters: Robyn (Mark) Murdoch, Cindy (Anthony) Moran, Beth Marshall; grandchildren: Tayler, Jesse, Braden, Amanda, Derek, Justin; sister, Elaine Powell; brothers: Dennis (Linda) Powell, Alan (Cindy) Powell; sister-in-law, Carol (Bob) Parrott; Godmother, Eva Goslin; aunts, uncles, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Karen Izydorek; brothers: Wayne Powell, William Powell; granddaughter Holly Marshall; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Irma (Gibson) and Floyd Kennedy.
Funeral service held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Brad Speirs of Novesta Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund. Pallbearers for Mr. Powell are: Jeff Powell, Paul Powell, Randy Izydorek, Rich Witherspoon, Eber Hollinshead, Mark Murdoch, Anthony Moran; honorary pallbearers: Tayler Marshall, Jesse Moran, Braden Murdoch, Amanda Marshall, Derek Moran, Justin Murdoch.
