EUGENE "EARL" RUSHLOW,
85, of Kingston, died with his family by his side Sunday, December 15, 2013 in United Hospice of Marlette Residence Center. He was born December 21, 1927 at home in Wyandotte in Wayne County, to Arthur and Myra (St. Charles) Rushlow. He married Lucy J. Smith March 23, 1946 in Rossville, GA. She died May 28, 1995.

Earl served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II. He was a dairy farmer and worked for Active Homes in Marlette for many years. Earl also worked for Legg's Meat Market as a meat cutter. After many years of service as a machine operator Earl retired from General Cable. Earl enjoyed playing Euchre with friends and family and he enjoyed playing horseshoes. Earl was a talented oil painter.

Earl is survived by his children: Ellen Austin of Kingston, Mary (John) LaFave of Harrison, Cheryl Chappel of Lapeer, Eugene (Linda) Rushlow of Silverwood, Lisa (Brian) Williamson of Sterling Heights, Rodney (Ruth) Rushlow of Deford, Bill (Betty) Rushlow of Peoria, AZ, Phillip Rushlow of Kingston; 23 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and two more great grandchildren due in a few months. Earl is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Earl is preceded in death by his siblings: Leo, Joseph, Robert, Ray, Alvin, Donald, Maria, Cecelia, Grace and Irene and two younger siblings who died in a house fire many years ago.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Rev. Robert Schikora of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Marlette, officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery, Kingston. Pallbearers for Mr. Rushlow: Justin Williamson, Gary Austin, Remington Rushlow, Kevin Rushlow, Matthew Rushlow and Andrew Rushlow.
