Ruth Marie Honoway

Ruth M. Honoway, 84, of Cass City, died Wednesday, April 1, 2026 in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was born February 14, 1942 in Imlay City to Floyd and Dorothy (Smith) Seidell. She married Ronnie Ivan Honoway on February 10, 1962 in Imlay City.

Ruth graduated from Imlay City High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her children. Ruth was deep into her religion and a member of First Baptist Church of Cass City. She was an active member of Women of Odd Fellows, Millington Chapter and was a Rebekah Degree recipient. Ruth enjoyed crocheting, coloring, and golfing. She never missed a good game of Euchre.

Ruth is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Ronnie of Cass City; children: Lynette (Robert) Mercer of Mayville, René (Bryan) Hampel of Inwood, WV; Randy Honoway of Mayville; grandchildren: Sara Mercer, Zachary Hampel, Katelyn Hampel, Kaylee Honoway, Raegan Honoway; great grandchildren: Ethan, Gracelyn; good friend and “sister”, Ruth McCurdy; faithful canine companion, Ginger. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Robert, Max, Richard, Russell, and Douglas Seidell; grandson, Ryan Mercer.

Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2026 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Pastor Christian Wright of First Baptist Church of Cass City officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Ronnie Honoway to be used at the family’s discretion.
