MARY MARGARET “MARGIE” MUEGGE,
90, of Cass City, died peacefully Friday, January 21, 2022 in Medilodge of Cass City. She was born April 24, 1931 in Gagetown to Adolph and Mathilda (Ducharme) Thiel. She married Edward “Bud” Schwartz on July 11, 1953. He died March 29, 1987. She later married Harold Muegge on November 27, 1993. He died May 27, 2000.
Margie loved life! She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, taking photos, and playing cards especially Euchre. In her earlier years, Margie bowled and kept score at tournaments. Playing bingo was another favorite pastime. Margie was known to send greeting cards to everyone for every occasion. She adored spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Margie was always happy and shared this happiness with many friends. She was gifted with an amazing “green thumb” and with it she could grow anything. Margie’s family extends a warm, heartfelt thank you to the caring staff of Medilodge of Cass City and Compassus Hospice.
Margie is survived by her children: John (Joyce) Schwartz of Deford, Peg (Pat) Schwartz of Huntsville, AL; Dorothy (Kim) Hill of Cass City, Ed (Deanna) Schwartz of Keysville, VA; her “adopted son”, Alex Nizzola of Gagetown; six grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her infant son, Joseph; brothers: infant, Joseph Thiel, Art (Ernestine) Thiel, Jim (Florence) Thiel, Leo (Eleanor) Thiel, Carroll “Benny” (Rosie) Thiel, Paul (Jeanne) Thiel; sisters: infant, Pauline, Louise (Glen) Harding, Eileen Thiel, Marie (Joe) Lapak, Rita Stewart.
Funeral mass held 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2022 in Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Cass City with Rev. Christian Tabares officiating. Interment in St. Agatha Cemetery, Gagetown. Memorials may be made to Our Lady Consolata Parish or Rawson Memorial Library.
