Norma Stewart

NORMA JEAN STEWART,
77, of Caro died following a long battle with cancer, Friday, July 28, 2017 in Covenant Medical Center Cooper Campus, Saginaw. She was born May 19, 1940 in Fairhaven Township, Huron County the last of four children born to Floyd Richard and Mabel Lucille (Deming) Pitcher. She married Donald Wilbert Stewart March 4, 1961 in Caseville. He died August 24, 2010.

Norma graduated from Bay Port High School in 1958 as Valedictorian of her class. She then attended Bay City Northeastern Business School. She worked for General Cable retiring after 35 years. Norma loved fishing especially herring and perch fishing in the Raber Bay near Drummond Island. She would not miss any opportunity to fish, anytime, anywhere, all year long, she loved it. Norma loved watching and feeding the birds that visited her yard particularly hummingbirds and orioles. She also enjoyed cooking and was an avid reader.

Norma is survived by her children: Lori (Cal) Barrett of Caro, Donald Stewart Jr. of Caro; grandchildren: Crystal (Scott) Girard of Saginaw, Mackenzie (Michael Bunge) Barrett of Dodgeville, Cameron (Aime) Barrett of Cedar Rapids, IA; great granddaughter, Mackenzie; brother, Ron (Peggy) Pitcher of Cass City; sister-in-law, Phyllis Pitcher of Owendale; several nieces and nephews. Norma is also survived by Don’s family: Robert (Lois) Stewart of Gladwin, Geraldine (Donald) Parker of Mio, Carol (Richard) Wagner of Fairgrove, Donna Zagorski of Cass City. She is preceded in death by sister, Thera (Sam) Morgan; brother, Larry Pitcher; brother -in-law and sister-in-law, Shirley (Roy) Latty.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in Kranz Funeral Home Kingston with Rev. Carol Abbott of Kingston United Methodist Church officiating. Interment is in East Dayton Cemetery.
