BEVERLY ANN TEETS
83, of Kingston, died peacefully Thursday, September 3, 2020 in her home. She was born December 21, 1936 in Saginaw to Clayton and Pearl (Enos) George. She married Evans Duane Teets on July 15, 1961 in Waukegan, IL.

Bev graduated from Vassar High School in 1955. She attended Michigan State University for three years, where she studied elementary education. Bev taught classes for the eighth grade in Snover Country School then worked as a rural mail carrier for eight years. Eventually, she became the U.S. Postmaster for the Village of Kingston, a position she held and worked for twenty-eight years. An active member of the Kingston United Methodist Church and with a deep appreciation of music, Bev was the church’s organist for over fifty years.

For many years, Bev and Evans wintered in Florence, Arizona and enjoyed camping and traveling. They visited the entire United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. Her hobbies included bird watching and reading a good book, but sports was her main passion. Bev loved Michigan State and proudly followed the Spartan’s football and basketball teams. She was also a fan and supporter of the Kingston Cardinals.
Bev is survived by her husband, Evans; daughter, Lisa (Tim) Lyons of Macomb; sons: Ted Teets of Kingston; Mark Teets of Houston, TX; four grandchildren: Tim (Meredith) Lyons, Tyler (Vy Vo) Lyons, Ginnie Simpson, Dustin (Sasheen) Simpson; great grandchildren: Lily Lyons, Lawson Lyons, Sophie
Lyons, Liam Miller, Sadie Miller, Riley Miller, Faith Simpson, Kayla Simpson, Aaron Simpson, Jordyn Simpson, Waylon Simpson; great-great-granddaughter, Raelynn Spears; sisters: Janet Gill of Birch Run, Donna (Gordon) Tedford of Vassar, Jo (Don) Wehrman of Caro. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Avery Gill.

Memorial service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the home of her grandson, 4805 Bevens Road, Deford with Rev. Mark Harriman officiating. Interment at a later date in Kingston Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Compassus Hospice or Kingston United Methodist Church.
