DENNIS ROGER THICK
Dennis R. Thick, 74, of Gagetown died Sunday, October 1, 2017 in his home, following a long illness. He was born December 22, 1942 in Salina, KS to David and Marjorie (Price) Thick. He married Mary Lou Ehrlich March 23, 1963 in Pigeon.
Dennis graduated in the first class of Elkton Pigeon Bayport Lakers High School in 1961. He worked construction for many years. Dennis enjoyed fishing especially Salmon and Lake Trout from Lake Huron. Dennis was a talented woodworker building bird houses, tables and chairs, and toy barns for the grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening with Mary Lou, building trellises for the flowers. He also enjoyed playing cribbage. Dennis was a former volunteer for the Elmwood Township Fire Department for about eight years.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; daughters: Deidra (Jon) Zdrojewski of Cass City, Lisa (Gary) Bradley of Cass City, Dawn (Joseph) Zaleski of Owendale, Robin (Sylvester) Goniwicha of Cass City; grandchildren: Brandon Vargo, Lauren Zdrojewski, Erin Zdrojewski, Kristen Bradley, Kelly (Adam) Garza, Kayla Zaleski, Eric Zaleski, Nick Zaleski, Kevin Goniwicha, Matthew (Stephanie) Goniwicha; seven great grandchildren; brothers: David (Linda) Thick of Caseville, Dale (Sandy) Thick of Romeo; sister, Carol (Art) Dronsella of Kilmanagh; brothers-in-law: William (Carol) Ehrlich of Gagetown, Richard (Jeannine) Ehrlich of Caseville; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Rev. Christian Tabares of Our Lady Consolata Parish officiating.
