DAVID FLORIAN URBAN
74, of Cass City, formerly of Gagetown, died Monday, July 18, 2022 in McLaren Thumb Region Hospital, Bad Axe. He was born September 30, 1947 in Bay City to Floyd and Barbara (Shantz) Urban. He married Nancy Creason on January 15, 1972 in St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Cass City.
David assisted with the family farm and raised dairy cattle until he married his sweetheart, Nancy. For thirty years, he worked for Sebewaing Industries as a crane operator until the business closed. David then went on to work for Michigan Sugar in Sebewaing and retired several years later. David was a member of the Tractor Club in Caro and The Good Sam Club, for over fifteen years. He enjoyed volunteering at the Thumb Octagon Barn. His hobbies were gardening vegetables and camping. David loved his grandchildren very much.
David is survived by his wife, Nancy; children: Todd (Vickie) Urban of Cass City; Ann (Chris) Zettel of West Branch; Joe (Kimberly) Urban of Sebewaing; seven grandchildren: Erica, Amber, Leah, Nathanael, Maddison, Rebekah, Sarah; sisters: Kathy Gerber of Marlette; Cindy Bimberg of Unionville. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service held 12:00 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2022 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Pastor Marc Herron of First Baptist Church of Caro officiating. Interment will be in Grant Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Thumb Octagon Barn. Family and friends may share memories, prayers, and photos with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
