JON DAVID CECIL VANDERPOOL
Jon D. C. Vanderpool, 17, of Cass City, formerly of Akron died Tuesday, August 15, 2017 in Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital of Grand Rapids. He was born August 1, 2000 in Bay City to John David Vanderpool and Lisa Marie Hutchinson.
Growing up in Akron, he attended Akron-Fairgrove High School and had aspirations of becoming a diesel mechanic. Jonny was looking forward to serving and fighting for his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. His sisters recall his sarcastic wit and a bubbly sense of humor. He loved deer hunting and being in the outdoors. Jonny appreciated both old and new country music. He held his family and friends close to his heart.
Jonny is survived by his mother, Lisa Hutchinson of Cass City; his father, John David Vanderpool of Akron; siblings: Brittany Cox, Hannah Vanderpool, Alyssa Vanderpool, Austin TerBush, Hunter TerBush, Victoria Vanderpool; grandmothers: Tina Hutchinson of Bad Axe; Cecilia Diaz of Imlay City; numerous aunts, uncles, relatives, friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers: Joseph Hutchinson and John Albert Vanderpool.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Rev. Troy Parrish of Great Lakes Harvest Baptist Church of Akron officiating. Interment in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
