RONALD ELMER VOSS
73, of Deford, died unexpectedly Friday, June 21, 2019 in Sparrow Hospital of Lansing. He was born July 5, 1945 in Cass City to Elmer and Luetta (Berdgman) Voss. He married Linda Fern Butler June 4, 1966 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Cass City. She died March 17, 2019.
Ron graduated Caro High School with the class of 1963. He retired from General Cable after 23 years, then worked as a USDA meat inspector. Ron had a passion for hobby farming. He enjoyed the time spent as a 4H small stock superintendent at the Tuscola County Fair. Ron presently served on the Novesta Township board of review. He was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church as a trustee and volunteer on various church boards and committees.
Ron is survived by his son, Ron Voss of Cass City; grandchildren: Andre (Justine) Voss, Zack (Jessica Ewald) Voss, Courtney (Benjamin) Miller, Mason Voss; great grandchildren: Keagan Voss, Devin Voss, McKayla Voss, Kara Voss, Mikelle Weiderhold, Danika Weiderhold, Dayton Weiderhold, Shea Miller, Asher Miller, Kierra Miller; step grandchildren: Jessica (Earl) Long, Kirklynd Spencer; step great grandchildren: Destiny Long, Gage Long, Bowen Long; sister, Margaret LaValley; brothers: Earl (Bev) Voss, Lee (Sue) Voss, Paul (Cindy) Voss; sisters-in-law: Bonnie Zeidler of Cass City; Molli (Scott) Hartel of Rockford; Mari (Kurt Bliss) Butler Lowe of Cass City; Paula Butler of Ypsilanti; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife; sister, Karen Voss; brother-in-law, Michael LaValley; sister- in-law Kay Butler; brother-in-law, Bill Zeidler.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2019 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Cass City with Rev. Steve Bagnall officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Voss will be: Danny Byrd, Zackary Voss, Andre Voss, James Finkbeiner, Walter Laming. Memorials may be made to Kranz Funeral Home for the benefit of the family.
