FRANCES PERMILLA KAMEN WALK
98, of Caro, died peacefully in her sleep, Monday, February 7, 2022 in Extended Care of Marlette Regional Hospital. She was born September 21, 1923 at home in Newberry to William Francis and Katie Permilla (Rought) Carr. She married Raymond Kamen October 3, 1940 in Munising. He died in 1982. Frances married Rudolph Walk on October 14, 1989 in Kingston. He died July 1, 2003.
Frances worked for Quality House Drapery in Marlette for eleven years. She was a foster grandparent for six years. Frances enjoyed crocheting and made many afghans for family and friends. She was a Wesleyan Church member since 1945 and a member of Kingston Wesleyan Church since her move to Kingston in 1949. Frances was active with Wesleyan Woman and was a Sunday School teacher.
Frances is survived by her children: Donald (Elaine) Kamen of Northville; Sally Demary of Wellston; Virginia (Joe) McIntosh of Austin, IN; Esther (Joe) Westphal of Norton Shores; daughter-in-law, Linda Kamen of Deckerville; granddaughter, Ronda Benjamin of Caro; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Raymond Kamen; grandson, Paul; granddaughter, Kristen; brother, William ‘Buck’ Carr; six half-sisters; son-in-law, Steve Demary.
Funeral service held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Brad Speirs of Novesta Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery in the spring. Memorials may be made to Novesta Church of Christ. Family and friends may share memories, prayers, and photos at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
