DARLA JEAN WHITNEY,
57, of Kingston died Easter Sunday evening April 17, 2022 in her home. She was born August 15, 1964 in Pontiac to Donald and Sandra (Blomberg) Phelps.
Darla graduated from Ross Dental School with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Tech. She was employed as a chassis Team Leader by General Motors in Lake Orion for twenty-two years. Darla loved playing with her granddaughter, especially singing silly songs and watching cartoons. She was a rock collector and enjoyed picking rocks from Lake Michigan. Darla made many crafts with the rocks she acquired. She was fond of penguins and always found a way to incorporate them into her artwork.
Darla is survived by her children: Candice (Greg) Holt of Morrisdale, PA; Gordon Crittenden of Kingston; granddaughter, Samantha Holt; her mother, Sandra Phelps; her father, Donald (Laura) Phelps; siblings: Corinna (Marvin) Baumgarten, Alice (David) DeLeary, Cathy (Dan) McConnaughey, Stacey (Henry) Kahle, Thad (Kelly) Phelps, Jeremiah Phelps; nine nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Harvey Crittenden II; step-father, Larry Finkbeiner.
