Our Heritage

Kranz Funeral Home began in 1990 with the reopening of the funeral home in Kingston. The former Karr, then Harmon, then Lance Funeral Home had been closed for several years. Funeral director Debra L. Kranz and her husband, Jim purchased the building, remodeled and reopened in February, L99L. The Kingston Community was, and continues to be, very supportive and truly appreciates having a hometown funeral home in their community.

ln 1994 Debra and Jim bought the Little Funeral Home in Cass City. With intentions of building a larger, new facility in the near future they began their lives in Cass city. After 4 years, the Kranz family moved into their new facility. It is a beautiful, large, functional building. The building is comfortable, allowing families to feel at home during their 'time here' There is plenty of room to visit with family and friends., The chapel will seat 400 comfortably' The children's room is inviting and full of toys to keep children active' The lounge gives folks a place to get a cup of coffee, have a bite to eat or just get a change of scenery.

Sam Leppert, a licensed funeral director since 1995, began working for Kranz Funeral Home in 2015. When Debra and Jim retired in July of 2O2O, Sam and his wife Wendy purchased Kranz Funeral Homes. They, along with the staff, continue to build relationships with the families they care for.
